Seeking Staking for the WSOP

Anyone who’s been involved in my life, knows this story: On April 14th I decided to hang up poker for a while and focus on music. On April 15th (online poker’s Black Friday) the FBI cracked down on Full Tilt and PokerStars and the money I tried to withdraw the night before was frozen. I’ve since received a check from PokerStars, but the majority of my bankroll on Full Tilt is still missing. Then, with the help of family, friends, and fans of my music, as well as friends of CrushTheGame.com, I was able to raise $6,153 on Kickstarter.com over the course of a month to finance the recording of the debut album of my project, The Dead Languages.

So now, recording is going in full swing for me. But as I stated in another post, I’m still selling my products on this site, offering customer support, and coaching – that won’t change anytime soon.

There still remains the question of what I’m going to do for money once I’m done recording this album. Several students and friends in the poker community suggested I get staked for a large tournament (or perhaps even several) and see if I can get any results. Well, the World Series of Poker is going on right now in my hometown of Las Vegas…

So I decided to make a staking proposal (also posted on 2+2) and share it here with anyone who’s interested:

Professional Winning Player Over Large Sample Size – WSOP Event 48

Bio:

Mike Ziethlow

  • 149203 on Full Tilt.
  • Professional online poker player for 2 years.
  • Over 1 Million hands played.
  • A poker coach on CrushTheGame.com
  • Designer of poker software tools for PT3 and NoteCaddy.

I live in Las Vegas, but until my money gets freed up from Full Tilt, I can’t risk what I have left of my bankroll. So I’m seeking staking here for an event I feel I have a strong shot at:

Event 48 – Tuesday June 28th – 12pm – $1500 NLH

Pitch:

I’m selling 90% of my action for this event. The smallest stake I’m selling is 10%. I’m accepting money either through PayPal transfer or an exchange of cash or chips here in Las Vegas. Exchanges in Las Vegas will have a markup of 4% lower than transfers on PayPal because there are no fees. Also, for every 5% over 10% you are willing to stake, I will reduce the markup by 0.25% I lay it all out below.

Stake:

10% = $177 (18% markup via PayPal) or $171 (14% markup via Las Vegas)
15% = $265 (17.75% markup via PayPal) or $256 (13.75% markup via Las Vegas)
20% = $353 (17.50% markup via PayPal) or $341 (13.50% markup via Las Vegas)
25% = $440 (17.25% markup via PayPal) or $425 (13.25% markup via Las Vegas)
30% = $527 (17% markup via PayPal) or $509 (13% markup via Las Vegas)

40% = $700 (16.5% markup via PayPal) or $675 (12.5% markup via Las Vegas)
50% = $870 (16% markup via PayPal) or $840 (12% markup via Las Vegas)

75% = $1291 (14.75% markup via PayPal) or $1246 (10.75% markup via Las Vegas)

90% = $1539 (14% markup via PayPal) or $1485 (10% markup via Las Vegas)

References:

As the owner of an online poker software business, I’ve built a solid, trustworthy reputation. For example:

“blood is a very good player who understands what information is required to make the best possible decisions at the table, and this is the basis for the effectiveness of his products”

Also, my students and clients can attest to how I have helped their poker game. From the same thread:

“my win rate as improved immensely”

and

“i have seen a significant upward trend in my winrates.”

I’ve also become somewhat of a public figure in Las Vegas with 2 recent articles written about me.

On how Black Friday has hurt players. From the Las Vegas Review Journal.

And on how I decided to make music my life until my bankroll situation clears up. From Las Vegas Weekly.

Because of my “high-profile” in the poker business, you can rest assured that I am on the level, trustworthy, and solid. And if you’d like I can PM the contact info of students, customers, and other online poker peers who can also give a reference.

Legal:

If I don’t receive your payment before the event, you do not have a stake. I won’t withhold your taxes if can provide the information needed for US tax form 1099. If you will not provide this information, I will have to withhold 30% and consider it “gambling revenue” on my taxes.

This package is for a percent of only what I cash for in the tournament, and does not include any endorsements/sponsorships deals. I reserve the right to cancel all stakes before the tournament and return your money if something drastic comes up.

This thread will serve as the hub of information for this stake. I also have a Twitter account under MikeFZiethlow and will tweet copious updates while involved in an event. I will also take a photo of my registration card and post it here after Day 1.

If you’d like to stake me for this event, please email support@crushthegame.com.

Thanks,

Mike
